Obituary
MONONA-Roger O. Gunderson, age 89, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at Oak Park Nursing Home. He was born on Oct. 21, 1922, in Edgerton, the son of Carl and Lena (Brietzman) Gunderson. He married Eleanor Skoien on Feb. 11, 1945, in Stoughton. Roger worked at Giddings and Lewis. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, playing cards, watching the Packers, and time spent at his cottage in Adams Friendship. Roger is survived by his wife, Eleanor; sons, Lawrence R. (Marsha) Gunderson of Monona, and Lloyd “Steve” (Susan) Gunderson of Janesville; three grandchildren, Matt (Lindsey) Gunderson of Madison and their children, Jesse and Jaxson, Stephanie (Josh) Minich of Janesville and their children, Morgan, Gracie, Kaelyn, and Kenna, and Casey Gunderson of Milwaukee; sister, Janet (Howard) Clemons of Stoughton; brother, Claude “Butch” (Brenda) Gunderson of Evansville; along with numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at ST. STEPHEN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5700 Pheasant Hill Road, Monona, at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens.
