Obituary

MADISON-Bonnie L. Sumner, age 83, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at Oak Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on Dec. 19, 1926, in Wayne County, Iowa, the daughter of Harmon and Vivia (Hainer) George. She married John Leonard on Aug. 3, 1947, in Greeley, Colo., and later married Harry Sumner on May 20, 1969, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Bonnie enjoyed water aerobics at Monona Community Center, knitting, and crocheting. She lived with her daughter, Harmony. Bonnie was able to help raise her grandkids, and loved spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Harmony (Scott) Ableman of Monona; stepson, James (Darcy) Sumner of Denver, Colo.; and stepdaughter, Rita Reinick of Greeley, Colo.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brother, Warren George of Billings, Mont. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, John; her second husband, Harry; sister, Blytha Pratt; and brothers, Orville George and Bernard George. The family is having a private burial in Colorado at a later date. The family would like to express there gratitude to the staff at Oak Park for the special care given to Bonnie.
