Obituary
MADISON/PARDEEVILLE - Peter A. Maly, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at his home with the love of his life, his wife, by his side. He was born on Nov. 13, 1951, the son of Frank and Myrtle (Yerges) Maly. Pete graduated from Madison East High School, class of 1969, then continued his education at the Madison Business School obtaining a Bachelors degree in Business Management following encouragement from his father to open a business. He married Jeanne Folz on May 5, 1973, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Madsion. In November of 1982, Pete along with his partner, Marvin Johnson, began Pete’s dream of owning a truck and auto repair business, M & J Truck and Auto Repair. Pete worked for many years as a mechanic/business owner with long hours of service calls in the middle of the night followed by long hours being a business man to the community. Pete was truly a servant leader with the mind set of always helping others before himself and this virtue has been passed to his children who continue making his business dream a reality. Pete loved his work life but no love was more paramount than the love he had for his family. Pete and his wife, Jeanne, met truly on a whim at Miller’s grocery store in Madison. Together they built not only a monumental marriage of faith and love, but they also taught their children what it takes to be married almost 40 years. Peter loved spending time with his six grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting whitetail deer, golfing, bowling and camping. In August of 2005, he successfully had a hole in one at Kessel Ridge Golf Course, in Columbus. For the past 27 years, he attended the National Bowling Tournament and had several 300 games in the numerous bowling leagues he was the anchor of. He is survived by the love of this life, Jeanne; son, Matt (Allison) Maly and their children, Sydney, Hunter and Parker all of Madison; son, Jonathan (Terri) Maly and their children, Tyler and Colton; and a daughter, Sarah (Ben) Grilley and their son, Isaac “Ike/Scooter” of Kendall; his mother, Myrt Maly of Madison; brother, Mike Maly of Columbus, Ohio; mother-in-law, Ann Folz of Marshfield; sister-in-law, Mary Anne Stewart of Baraboo; brothers-in-law, John (Diane) Folz of Marshfield, Bob (Sheila) Folz of Wauwatosa, and Dan (Kathleen) Folz of Milwaukee; and many nieces and nephews. Pete was preceded in death by his father, Frank Maly; and sister, Patti Herr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and visitation will also be held at church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Your memory is our keepsake with which we'll never part. God has you in His keeping, we have you in our hearts. You'll be remembered with love, and sadly missed by family and friends. “May our new angel in Heaven, Our Peter, watch over us always.”

My prayers go out to the whole Maly Family. May god allow that angel in heaven to keep an eye on all of you. The world lost a Great Man! I will remember him for his humor and his laughter and seeing him every Saturday morning at Dream Lanes when we were all kids. Prayers and thoughts are with you all.

God has called Pete home. He asks us to `be vigilant' for we never know the time. Pete's life is a celebration of using his God-given talents to inspire, lead, and leave the world a better place for all. May God bless Jeanne and her family.

While we did not know Peter directly we are friends of his brother, Michael. It is with great sadness that my husband and I send out our deepest sympathies to the Maly family. May God grant you comfort in this time of loss.

Dear Jeanne & Family,
Our deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family during this most diffcult time. Pete was truly a special person, and though we lost contact over the years I have many fond memories of holiday celebrations with my Mom, Aunts or Grandma Yerges taking turns making the feast at their homes. There was a lot of love and laughter shared during those memorable moments. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Take care and God bless!
