WPRA Mourns the Passing of an Educator, State Association Member, Foundation Board Member, and Student Advocate The Wisconsin Park & Recreation Association is deeply saddened on the passing of long-time member and supporter, Peter Vlisides. Peter was an active member of the WPRA Foundation, where he lent his fundraising expertise to obtain needed support for both professional and student grants and scholarships. In addition, Peter was widely known as the “Student Advocate” for the state association, in which he annually brought MATC students to the Annual Conference & Trade Show to allow the students to network with professionals in the field, and to attend outstanding educational sessions. His support and passion to enhance the education of the students enrolled in the MATC Recreation Program, always set the bar high for other educators to emulate. Mary, I am so sorry to hear about Peter. What a shocking loss. I don't know what to say. You and your kids are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care.

Peter was one of my mentors while going to MATC, and he was a great friend to us all. He will be greatly missed, but his legacy and love of life will live on.
