Obituary
Madison - Sharon Kozak, age 69, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011.She was born in Madison on May 28, 1942, the daughter of Alfred and Otela (Nelson) Schumann. Sharon attended Madison East High School and graduated with the class of 1960. Following high school, she began working at Truax Field. She then worked at Forest Products where she developed many lifelong friendships. She was united in marriage to William “Bill” Kozak on May 13, 1967. Together, they were dedicated to building their successful business, Kozak Apartments. Sharon enjoyed living on Lake Mendota and watching the sunsets every evening. She was an avid Badger Basketball fan, adored “Thursday night” bowling with her girlfriends and was devoted to her daughters in every aspect of their lives. Above all she enjoyed time with her friends, family and grandchildren. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. Her infectious laugh, loving personality and incredible sense of humor brought joy to all those around her. She will be missed by her daughters, Angela (Steven “Reeno”) Jacobs of Mercer and Melissa (Patrick) Klipstine of Madison; grandchildren, Journey, Axle, Chance, Blaze and Cash Jacobs; William, Abigail and Tyler Klipstine; sister, Barb (Dean) Evert of Madison; mother-in-law, Marie Kozak of Madison; brother-in-law, Robert (Marilyn) Koza of DeForest; sister-in-law, Darlene (Sonny Joyner) Lewis of North Carolina and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, William. Funeral services will be held at BETHEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 312 Wisconsin Ave., Madison, at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2011 with the Rev. John Swanson presiding. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. A funeral luncheon will be held at The Mariners Inn following the burial. A time to visit with family and friends will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Sharon’s name. A special thank you to the wonderful staff at St. Mary’s Care Center and the care givers at Highland Park for the wonderful care you gave Sharon. Mother, you’ll be truly missed.
Cemetery:
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. A funeral luncheon will be held at a local restaurant following the burial. The location will be announced at Thursday’s service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Sharon’s name.
A time to visit with family and friends will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at church on Thursday.
