Obituary
Hayter, Annette L. STOUGHTON-Annette L. Hayter, age 83, of Stoughton, passed away on Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Meriter Hospital. She was born on Aug. 31, 1928, in Dodgeville, the daughter of Leonard K. and Ruth (Leaf) Peterson. Annette spent her early childhood years in Edmund and later moved to Mineral Point, where she attended grade school and graduated from Mineral Point High School. Annette was united in marriage to Harry Hayter on July 14, 1947, in Dubuque, Iowa. After her marriage, they lived in Green Bay, where their first two daughters were born. They then moved to Shawano, where their third daughter was born. They moved to Stoughton, where the family has resided since 1954. Annette was an accomplished rosemaler and was a national rosemaling champion. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Oregon, since 1963. Annette is survived by her husband, Harry; daughter, Karla (Ben Gierl) Hayter of Oak Park, Ill; and grandchildren, Sara, Daniel and Stefan Gierl, all of Oak Park, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughters, Rebecca Hayter and Martha Peterson. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Highway 51, Stoughton, at noon on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, with the Rev. Jessica Scholten presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Meriter Hospital and Dr. Charles Stone, UW cardiologist, for their care and compassion.

There are some people that are foundationa of your life and you always think they will just be there. Both of your parents are that for me. Whether it is "decorating" our cottage or bumping into them in Marinette. They have brought great joy. Annette will be missed.
