Charles E. Mathison

Mathison, Charles “Chuck” MADISON-Charles “Chuck” Mathison, age 78, of Madison, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at home. He was born on Jan. 26, 1933, in Madison, the son of Amos and Edna (Storteig) Mathison. He was united in marriage to Jeannie Pearson on Nov. 2, 1957, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Chuck retired from Gardner Bakery, where he worked since high school. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War veteran. Chuck was an avid Packers and Badgers fan and family meant everything to him. Chuck is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jeannie; children, Daniel, Charlene, Lori and Vicki; and sister, Delores LaBelle. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marion, Clarice, Ruth and Beverly; and brother, Dwayne. Funeral services will be held at HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2670 Milwaukee St., Madison, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, with Pastor Bernt Tweit presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov 7, 2011. Visitation will be at the church from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
