Obituary

MADISON-Russell Roy Lincicum, age 84, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at Agrace HospiceCare. May he rest in peace and enjoy his reunion with his wife, Donna, and family. Russ was born on March 8, 1927, in Madison. He spent his life on the East Side of Madison and was able to stay in the family home until the last few days of his life. In his younger years, Russ was in the Navy. He fought proudly for his country during the war. Russ enjoyed his daily cribbage games with \"the group\" after enjoying his morning breakfast at the Northside Family Restaurant. In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and once caught a huge sturgeon at Tenny Locks. Russ was employed by the City of Madison for 30 years, many spent at Tenny Locks as the lock tender, and was a man of many trades. You could not find a lawn mower that he could not fix. His children and grandchildren have fond memories of the many bikes and other toys he would bring home and repair fo them to enjoy. Russ married Donna Jean on April 1, 1951, and together they raised their six children. He was a very kind man who was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Russ is survived by his children, Ronald (Jacy) Lincicum, David (Sue Walker) Lincicum, Doreen (Ernie Hill) Hinrichs, Rita Milette, William Lincicum, and Diane (Tim) Hutson; grandchildren, Quincy, Christy, Stacy, Kayln, Calli, Tim, Amanda, Zachary, Abigail, Delany, and Caden; great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; two sons, Dennis and Russell \"Rick\"; and several other family members. Russ was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous and had over 30 continuous years of continuous sobriety. Russ\'s family would like to extend a heart felt thank you to the A.A. community. The Lincicum family would like to thank Sam and staff at the Northside Family Restaurant for serving him his daily breakfast. They would also like to extend a sincere thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants of St. Mary\'s Hospital, who took incredible care of him over the past several days. Lastly, they would like to thank Agrace HospiceCare for his final hours. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to donor\'s choice.
