Dorothy Mae Rounds

Rounds, Dorothy Mae MADISON-Dorothy Mae Rounds, age 90, of Madison passed away on Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at Agrace HospiceCare, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 2, 1921, in Madison, the daughter of Matthew and Katherine (Helser) Friedland. Dorothy graduated from Madison Central High School in 1939. She was united in marriage to Warren G. Rounds on July 5, 1941, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison. Dorothy was a very devoted mother while raising her children. Once the kids were older, she worked for UW-Madison. Over her lifetime, she enjoyed attending many of her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities, and also enjoyed traveling and family vacations. She loved spending time with her family, especially at the family cabin in Crivitz. Dorothy is survived by her sons, Thomas (Nancy), Michael (Sharon), Robert (Kathy), and James (Kelly); daughter, Susan (Jim) Pharo; eight grandchildren, Laura (Mike) Saunders, Sarah (Don) Johnson, Austin and Ashley Rounds, Nicholas Pharo, and Benjamin, Katie and Hannah Rounds; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Matthew Rounds; three brothers; and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at IMMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1021 Spaight St., Madison, at 11:30 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, with Pastor Dustin Krystowiak presiding. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the church at 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Memorials may be made in Dorothy’s name to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
