Obituary

MADISON-Donald Lee Clay, age 49, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011. He was born on Nov. 1, 1961, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Verna Mae Clay. Donald attended Walter Scott School in Chicago, Ill. and High Park High School in New York. He loved basketball, football, singing in and out of school activities. Donald worked for Concourse Hotel for 20 years, he also loved roofing, construction, repairing cars, and was a master with his hands. He served in the military in the early 1980\'s. Donald was a loving and considerate person, making people smile with his best gift. He always tried to be a leader for the young, doing positive things with their lives. Donald “Bo” was a loving father and husband. He was always encouraging to others. Donald is a person you could depend on, confide in, and trust. To Bo, living life was being surrounded by family and friends. Bo would not want us to be sad, he would want us to continue enjoying life. He always had a saying that was heard many of times throughout his life. I would love to share but those who were close, know exactly what it was. He leaves to cherish his wife, Victoria Graham Clay; seven children, Frederick, Nicole, Charles, Markita, Sebastian, Dontonia, and Cashawna; 16 grandchildren, Nar’Shakiah, Nar’Shaqueta, Nar’Shakirah, Lanija, Miracle, Shi’OAnnia, Shi’ni, Jordan, Aniyah, Jetta, Tara, Tiekira, Tre, Theddeus, Angel, and Halo; five brothers, Duane, John Collier, Albert Clay, Eddie Clay, and Henry (Hank) Lee; sisters, Sally Clay Terrell and Angela Clay; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins; uncle, King Collier; aunts, Cynthia and Janis; son-in-law, T.J.; parents-in-law, Rochelle and Charles Williams; brothers-in-law, James, Jerry, Brian, and Sandy; sisters-in-law, Dorothy, Pokey, Delores, Earline, Cheryl, Renada, and Desire; he leaves to cherish his memories a best friend, Willie Roberson; special friend, Sabrina Williams; to cherish two cousins, Hywatha and Tanya; and special friends, Tyrone, J.R., Jeff, and T-money. Donald was preceded in death by his mother, Verna Mae Clay; father, Louis Charles Cook; brother, Carlos; and two sisters, Aretha Clay Ward and Sandra Cook. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, with Pastor Anthony Wade presiding.
