Florence Bahr

No Photo Bahr, Florence L. MADISON-Florence L. Bahr, age 84, passed away peacefully after a long illness, on Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg, surrounded by her loving family. Florence was born on sept. 2, 1927, in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of Pearl and Melvin Hinson. She dearly loved her family and, for most of her life, enjoyed participating in family activities. Florence had a wonderful sense of humor. The children were her pride and joy, and she was thought of as their unofficial grandmother. She had a very close relationship with her nieces, Laura Nygaard and Tracy Bracey. Her little grandniece, Tavi Bracey, had a special place in her heart and brought much joy to her life the past three years. Florence was employed by the Wisconsin Asphalt Pavement Association for many years. Following her retirement, she worked part time at Rennebohm’s Drugstores. She is survived by her brothers, Paul (Ruth) Hinson of Circle Pines, Minn, and Richard (Judy) Rust of Middleton; sister, Deborah (Larry) Nygaard of McFarland; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Rust; mother, Pearl Rust; and sister, JoAnn Sprecher. In accordance with Florence’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park and she will be laid to rest near her mother, Pearl Rust. Florence’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Karen and Jeff, and to the caregivers at HospiceCare in Fitchburg for their compassion and loving care during Florence’s final journey.
