Carl Cordio

Cordio, Carl MADISON-Carl Cordio, age 79, of Madison passed away on Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at HospiceCare. He was born on Jan. 24, 1932, in Madison, the son of Joseph and Lillian (Lundin) Cordio. Carl served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He was united in marriage to Barbara Suetmeier on May 21, 1955. Carl worked as a mechanic for Madison Metro for 42 years. In 2008, Carl’s family from Sicily came over for a visit. This was very special to Carl as family was always first. Carl is survived by his son, Mike Cordio of Sun Prairie; daughter, Jennifer (Brian) Zwettler of Cross Plains; grandchildren, Mike (Kim) Cordio, Mackenzie Zwettler, Taryn Zwettler, Giovanna Zwettler, and Giancarl Zwettler; and great-grandchildren, Cameron Cordio and Collin Cordio. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara; daughter, Linda Sue, brother, Frank; and sister, Charlotte. A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., with military honors at 8 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Four Winds Manor for the wonderful care given to Carl. A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., with military honors at 8 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011.
