Obituary

OREGON/ DOVER, TENN.- Diane (Markham) Haverkate, age 52, of Dover, Tenn., passed away on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, in Erin, Tenn., after a brief battle with melanoma cancer. She was born on April 20, 1959, in Madison, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Nevel) Markham. Diane graduated from Oregon High School in 1977; she enjoyed and participated in many sports. After high school she enlisted in the Air National Guard. During her enlisted time she met her man, Richard Haverkate. They were united in marriage on April 25, 1981 in Oregon. Diane and Rich spent their lives in several different states, as well as Japan and Germany. Diane graduated from Maryland University with a degree in computer programming. She was employed by DynCorp International in Fort Campbell, Ky. Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Rich, in 2008. She is survived by her parents, Robert and Mary of Oregon; sister, Debbie (Richard) Seus) of Oregon; brothers, Bob (Rachel) Markham of Albany and Bill (Mary Jo) Markham of Oregon; and three nieces and a nephew. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park Street, Oregon, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011.
