Mark Notstad

DANE/ McFARLAND- Mark Notstad, age 59, of Dane, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, from a motorcycle accident. He was born on July 23, 1952, in Madison, the son of Eugene and Pam (Blase) Mundt. Mark graduated from McFarland High School. He worked numerous jobs such as Oscar Mayer, Ortega and even was a business owner for G&L Tire. For the past three years, Mark was employed at Uniek where he worked as an extruder operator. Mark was an avid motorcycle rider, biker and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed walking, hiking and camping. Mark was a great father and grandfather, an all around family man. He is survived by his children, Jennie Masten, Dan Notstad, and Adam Notstad; grandchildren, Gabrielle and Morgan Masten; mother, Pam Mundt; siblings, Deb Umhoefer, Judy Notstad, Kriss (Jeff) Besch, and Dennis (Kay) Notstad; a niece and numerous nephews; and his canine companion, Tiny. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Mundt. Memorial services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a bench on a local bike path.
