Thomas Coulter Malin

LODI-Thomas Coulter Malin, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at his home. He was born on June 2, 1928, in Friendship, the son of Clifford and Jeanne (Coulter) Malin. After graduating from high school in Tama, Iowa, Tom attended the University of Dubuque. On September 8, 1951, he was united in marriage to Barbara Hofbauer. Tom was a veteran having proudly serving his country in the United States Navy. After leaving the service, Tom worked with the Chicago-Northwestern Railroad for over 40 years retiring in 1989. He enjoyed hunting and walking his dogs, golf and truly treasured the time spent with his family. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; two sons, Thomas C. (Michele) Malin, James C. Malin; six grandchildren, Marsha, Tyler, Kathryn, Cathie Jo, Chad and Emily; five great-grandchildren, Ella, Louis, Aidenn, Oliver and Jesse; a brother, Jack (Nancy Joan) “Joan” Malin and other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild, Renee. Funeral services will be held at the HAMRE GUNDERSON FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 157 S. Main St., Lodi at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 1, 2011. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of Wisconsin, 13100 W. Lisbon Rd., Suite 700, Brookfield, WI 53005-2508.
