Krehl, John A. MADISON-John A. Krehl, age 76, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at home. He was born on July 21, 1935, in Madison, the son of Dr. W.H. and Elenore (Hobbins) Krehl. John graduated from Madison East High School and UW-Stout. He married Janet Lendborg on March 19, 1955, in Rockford, Ill. John served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957 until 1959. He was vice president of American Exchange and Valley Bank of Madison. John was a lifetime member of the Elks Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and as a younger man, enjoyed boat racing. John is survived by his two loving daughters, Carolyn (Bryan) Steinhorst of Oregon and Elenore (Mark) MacKinnis of Janesville; four grandsons, Drew and Derek Steinhorst, and Brock and Connor MacKinnis; sister, Jeanne Matson of Stoughton; sister-in-law, Esther Krehl of Monona; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Janet; and brother, Thomas. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.

Uncle John was a sweet, kind, and gentle man. I will always have fond memories of him. As well, his daughters, Carolyn and Ellie are precious. My heart goes out to you in the loss of your father. I know he will be missed, as is Aunt Janet - another sweetheart. Love you guys! Sorry we won't make the Memorial Service. Come and visit us anytime!! xxoo
