Gloria Yvonne Schloemer

FITCHBURG-Gloria Yvonne Schloemer, age 82, of Fitchburg, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011, at her home. She was born on July 9, 1929, in Lone Rock, the daughter of Otto and Christine (Julick) Schloemer. She married Edward Beitz in 1946, in Dubuque, Iowa. Gloria graduated from East High School in 1946. She worked at the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation for 12 years. Gloria enjoyed crossword puzzles, loved animals, and was an avid reader. She is survived by her husband, Edward; four children, Lorena (James) Devine, Edward Jr. (Dee) Beitz, Sharynn Schloemer, and Bernard Schloemer; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Haroldine and Betty; and three brothers, Otto Jr., Caroll, and Bradley. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL HOME, 2950 Chapel Valley Road, Fitchburg, at Noon on Friday, Aug. 19, 2011. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Angel’s Wish.
