Obituary

MADISON/MARSHALL- Floyd A. Myren, age 83, died on Sept. 4, 2011, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on Sept. 27, 1927, the son of Alfred and Margaret (Hayes) Myren. Floyd proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corp from 1945-1947. He married Bonnie Zink on Sept. 6, 1952. Floyd was an ironworker for more than 30 years, and was a member of Ironworkers Union Local No. 383. Floyd enjoyed wood carving, his rose garden and traveling. His cottage on Butternut Lake, near Park Falls, was a special place to be with family. Floyd was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Marshall. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bonnie; children, Michael (Dorothy) Myren, Dale (Ann) Myren, David (Debbie) Myren and Philip (Christi) Myren; nine grandchildren, Jason, Kevin, Matt, Amanda, Jordan, Kaitlin, Christopher, Sam and Angel; three great-grandchildren, Trevor, Ivy and Addisyn; and a sister-in-law, Betty (Jerry) Wells. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Lloyd, brother, Kenneth Myren; and three sisters, Ruth Rasmussen, Mary Peterson and Betty West. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, with the Rev. Paul Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from noon until the time of the service on Friday. Memorials may be made to the family for charities to be determined.
