Obituary
MADISON – Betty S. Zelinske, age 91, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, with her family by her side. She was born on Oct. 8, 1919, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Edward and Lillian Silet. Betty graduated from Amundsen High School in Chicago. She was a devoted wife and mother, raising her two sons in the importance of education, and of “being the best person you can be.” She was a woman who took pride in being a wife, mother and homemaker, and did so throughout her life. She was known to her many friends and LaFollette High School work associates for her generosity, baking skills, and an ever-present plaque reading “Back away from the chocolate, and no one gets hurt.” Her friends would help her stretch her birthday into a “season,” frequently lasting almost two months. Betty was a sweetheart. She is survived by her son, Edward of Longboat Key, Fla. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Lillian; her husband, Walter; her son, Stephen; and her brother, Edward. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 9 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 29, with Father Bart Timmerman presiding. Inurnment will be at St. Mark's Cemetery in Redgranite at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. A memorial visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011.

Inurnment will be at St. Mark\'s Cemetery in Redgranite at 12:30 p.m. on Monday.
A memorial visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011.
