Obituary

MADISON - James Kevin Lynch, age 60, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011. Jim was born on May 28, 1951, in Madison, son of John and Marie (Fahey) Lynch. He attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Grade School and Monona Grove High School, graduating in 1969. He attended Stevens Point State College for two years. Jim was a life-long resident of the Madison area. Jim was an avid sports fan and accompanied his cousin, John Clarke, to many UW football and women’s basketball games. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers as well as many other sporting events. Jim took great pleasure in his baseball card collection and spent many enjoyable hours listening to the Beatles and music from the 60’s and 70’s. He loved to drive the back roads of Wisconsin with his childhood friend Gary Kalscheur. Most of all, Jim loved his family and we will miss him deeply. Jim is survived by his two sisters, Kathy Lynch of Madison and Jayne (Vic) Long of Racine.; four nieces and one nephew, Tania, Martha, Jesse, Jalyn and Erin; and he was a great-uncle to Devin, Taylor, Daton and Makayla. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marie Lynch; and his brother-in-law, Les Knobloch. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield Street, Monona, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, with Father Bart Timmerman presiding. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 29, 2011. We are pilgrims on a journey, we are travelers on the road; we are here to help each other walk the mile and bear the load. I will hold the Christ-light for you in the nighttime of your fear; I will hold my hand out to you, speak the peace you long to hear. I will weep when you are weeping; when you laugh I’ll laugh with you. I will share your joy and sorrow ‘till we’ve seen this journey through. (From The Servant Song by Richard Gillard) “We love you Jim. You will be in our hearts forever and always.” Cemetery: Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 29, 2011. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield Street, Monona, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, with Father Bart Timmerman presiding.
