Roneta Liebetrau

MADISON-Roneta V. (Reddy) Liebetrau,age 87, died on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 in Sioux City, Iowa. She was born on February 21, 1924, at Pierce Maternity Hospital, Madison, the daughter of Brennan and Sylvia (Burmeister) Reddy of Middleton. She graduated from Middleton High School in 1941 and the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1945, School of Home Economics, Dietetics. She interned one year at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Oregon. She met her husband Robert (Bob) Liebetrau in March, 1945, when he returned from WWII service in Accra, Africa. They were married November 9, 1946, in Madison. Bob's work took them to Prairie du Chien, Baltimore, MD., Erie. PA., Indianapolis, IND., Plymouth, IND.,Waunakee, Marshall and Madison on retirement. She volunteered in these communities and took part in church activities. She loved all sports both as a participant and a spectator. Ronnie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Survivors include her son, Steve of Elk Point, Iowa, his wife Laurie and Ronnie's beloved grandchildren, Maggi, 15, Ben, 12, and Audrey, 5; and a dear friend and best buddy, since first grade, Be Atkins. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Middleton. Memorial services will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave, Middleton at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 23, 2011 with the Reverend Heather Lampert presiding. Private burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Ronnie has asked that everyone come for a celebration of her life after the service at the funeral home. Cemetery: Private burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
