Obituary

MADISON - Ruth Ann Bischel, age 82, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at home with her family at her side. She was born on April 5, 1929, in Stetsonville, the daughter of Edward and Louise (Fountain) Habermeyer. Ruth married Wayne Bischel on May 31, 1952, in Stetsonville. She was known as Ma Bischel to everyone in the neighborhood, and her home and kitchen were open to all. Ruth is survived by her husband, Wayne; children, Steve, Gordy (Lynne), Ken (Mary), Mary, Barb (Tod), Brian (Theresa), Debbie (Brian) and Tina (Lonny), nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Patricia, Marion and Dorothy; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Emery and William. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, with Father Kent Schmitt presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison from 3 p.m until 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Cemetery: Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison from 3 p.m until 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. My deepest sympathy to you, Mr. Bischel and your entire family. I had the pleasure of attending school with Barb and remember Mrs. Bischel as a very kind and caring woman. I also had the honor of caring for her as a patient at Meriter Hospital. I believe she is smiling in heaven right now. God bless you all.
