SUN PRAIRIE-Mabel E. Wampole, age 89, of Sun Prairie, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, in Sun Prairie. She was born on Feb. 6, 1922, the daughter of Francis and Anna (Legery) Lovicott. Mabel was united in marriage to Royce E. Wampole on March 5, 1941, in Dubuque, Iowa. Mabel is survived by two daughters, Shirley (Gary) Schroeder of Beaver Dam, and Sherry (Tom) Brooks of Warsaw, Indiana; five sons, Dave (Diana) of Sun Prairie, Don (Vivian) of Marshall, Duane (Ruth) of Mosinee, Darrell (Linda) of Wyocena, and Dan (Marie) of Sun Prairie; 30 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren ; and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Royce in 2007; daughter, Susie; two grandchildren; two sisters; and four brothers. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 29, 2011. Burial will be at Hauge Cemetery in Keyeser. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff (Patty, Cassandra, and Autumn) at the McCloskey home in Sun Prairie.
