Obituary
COTTAGE GROVE- Joseph L. Galarowicz, age 87, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at HospiceCare, Inc. He was born on January 12, 1924, in Lublin, the son of Jacob and Caroline (Choweniec) Galarowicz. Joseph joined the Navy in 1944 until 1946, then moved to Chicago, where he met the love of his life, Adeline. They were married in 1948 in Chicago. Joseph and Adeline resided in Chicago until 1961, when they decided to move to Northern Wisconsin to a place called Withee, then to Cottage Grove, where they raised their two sons, Wayne and Joseph, Jr. He worked for Galar Industries until his retirement at age 52. Joseph was an avid fisherman, Cubs fan and Packers fan. He enjoyed being outdoors and working around the house, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Joseph was a strong individual, his family always admired his leadership. Joseph is survived by his wife; sons, Joseph L. (Sue) Galarowicz, Jr., and Wayne (Vicky) Galarowicz; five grandchildren, Scott, Phillip, Amy, Kyle and Stephanie; a brother-in-law, Ted (Babe) Przepiora; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and eleven siblings. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2011. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare, Inc. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to all staff at HospiceCare.
