Glen O. Julseth

MADISON- Glen Julseth, age 91, of Madison, passed away on Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at Parkside Assisted Living. He was born on Sept. 20, 1919, in Evansville, the son of Edward and Emma Julseth. Glen married Barbara K. Sarbacker on Sept. 18, 1965, at St. Raphael Cathedral in Madison. He worked at the hardware store in Evansville for nine years and then worked for Wisco Hardware in Madison for six years. Glen then found a job with the University of Wisconsin, where he was employed until his retirement. He enjoyed being a team player for the Evansville Softball League in his younger years. Glen is survived by his four step-children, Janice (Charles) Johnston of Madison, Richard (June) Sarbacker of Madison, David (Nancy) Sarbacker of Madison and Donald (Jeanette) Sarbacker of Land O Lakes, Fla.; 14 step-grandchildren, Mark (Pamela) Sarbacker of Louisa, Va., Ann Marie (Paul) Simmons of Spotsylvania, Va., Jane Jensen of Madison, Aaron Sarbacker of Madison, Julia (Kevin) Haag of Blue Mounds, Leslie (Mark) Doering of Stoughton, James Sarbacker of Belleville, Timothy (Deb) Sarbacker of Madison, Mary (Marc) McNett of Edgerton, Joel (Jennifer) Sarbacker of Waunakee, Nicole (Gabe) Sarbacker of Madison, Lloyd C. (Blair) Sarbacker of San Antonio, Texas, Scott Sarbacker of Indianopolis, Ind. and Melissa (Michael) Hallman of Davie, Fla.; sister, Helen Liebl; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara on July 15, 1998; parents; stepson, Lloyd F. Sarbacker on June 16, 1997; sister, Esther Fuglestad and Marion Bratzke; and brothers, Allen, Edwin and Lester Julseth. Cemetery: Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare, Inc. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Friday, Aug. 26, 2011.
