Obituary

Persike, Perry T. MCFARLAND-Perry T. Persike, age 55, of McFarland passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, from complications due to a stroke. He was born on June 12, 1956, in Rochester, Minn., the son of Raymond and Eleanor Persike. After graduating from Queen of Apostles Catholic High School in 1974, he attended UW-Stevens Point. Perry was united in marriage to Sharol Smith on Dec. 28, 1998 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. He worked at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in the Manitowoc area before returning to Madison. Perry attended Professional Golf Qualifying School, caddied on the Pro Tour, and was the Assistant Golf Pro at Yahara Hills Golf Course and Vitense Golfland. His greatest enjoyment was teaching junior golfers. He enjoyed auto racing, boating and fishing. He looked forward to their cabin and time spent with his family and friends. Perry is survived by his wife, Sharol; daughters, Amanda and Megan; mother-in-law, Barbara Smith; and special nieces and nephews, John, Chris, Jaime, Tyler and Ashley; brother-in-law, Dan Smith; and many very special extended family and friends in his life. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ron, Jeff and Bruce; and father-in-law, Terry Smith. Memorial services will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 5763 Ct. Hwy. Q, Waunakee, at Noon on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, with the Rev. Kirk Morledge presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given for a fund to be established for the Persike family. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Resnick at the UW Neuro ICU and the wonderful staff of nurses for their loving care. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given for a fund to be established for the Persike family. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial services will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 5763 Ct. Hwy. Q, Waunakee, at Noon on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, with the Rev. Kirk Morledge presiding.

Perry will be truely missed by all who knew him. He was one of the good guys! He was so proud of his girls. Kelly & Casey speak of the memories they had with their Uncle Perry ~ fishing and then having those fish for dinner. May this and other memories heal our pain of this huge loss.
