Obituary

MADISON- Stanley P. Midthun, age 89, of Madison, passed away peacefully into heaven on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, at Chamomile Assisted Living. He was born on Feb. 27, 1922, in the Town of Cottage Grove, the son of Soren and Stina (Severson) Midthun. Stanley married Harriet on March 19, 1949, in Madison. He graduated from Deforest High School. Stanley served in the Army as a technical sergeant in World War II. He retired from Oscar Mayer after 38 years of employment. Stanley was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was always there when anyone needed him. Stanley was a longtime member at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He is survived by his children, Stan (Lorie) Midthun, Harvey Rindfliesch, Johanne Gaines, Gary (Doris) Rindfliesch, Rosalie Rindfliesch and Robert (Janis) Rindfliesch; many grandchildren, great-grandchidren and great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Donald Rublee; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Midthun. Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, Harriet; four sisters; and three brothers. Funeral services will be held at HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2670 Milwaukee Street, Madison, at noon, on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, with the Rev. Mark Bartels officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Chamomile and a special thank you to the pastors at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Cemetery: Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
