Obituary

Natvig, David A. MADISON -David Allen Natvig, age 85, died on July 6, 2011, at the Ellen and Peter Johnson HospiceCare Residence in Madison. He was born on July 20, 1925, in Cottage Grove, to Severt and Marion (Stickle) Natvig. Dave was a veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 534. He was an electrician with Electric Construction from 1968 to 1990 and a member of IBEW Local 159. During his lengthy retirement, Dave kept busy by donating his electrical skills to various causes. He loved the University of Wisconsin Badgers, the Green Bay Packers and the Arizona State University Sun Devils. David is survived by daughters, Kristine Natvig DeCato of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Eileen Natvig (Donald) Bocchi of Chandler, Ariz.; sons, Paul (Jan) Natvig of Madison, and Daniel Natvig of Sun City, Ariz; grandchildren, David Natvig, Emi Natvig, Matthew Bocchi and Joel (Terah) Bocchi; and great-grandchildren, Matthew, Grace and Reygan Bocchi; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dave is also survived by brother, Gerald Natvig of Cottage Grove; sisters, Carol Hellickson of Cottage Grove, and Joyce Hanrahan of Las Vegas, Nev. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Sundquist; and brothers, Roger, Philip and Severt Natvig; nephews, Howard Hellickson and Craig Sundquist; and son-in-law Richard DeCato, M.D. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dave and Joy Krey, Rich Gorst, Ken Frederick and Ron Hillson for their loyal friendships with Dad, especially through his progressively darkening days of dementia and blindness. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. Interment with Military Honors will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
