Luther E. Hynum

MADISON- Luther Hynum, age 94, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2011. He was born on May 29, 1917, in Peoria, Ill., the son of Hiram and Anna (Slinde) Hynum. Luther married Jeanne Chambers on July 19, 1941 in the Little Brown Church in the Vale. He graduated from East High School. Luther worked for Gisholt in Madison and Gilman in Janesville. After retirement, he enjoyed living on the lake and playing tennis. Luther was a lifelong member of Bethel Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Jeanne; sons, Steven (Marlene), Les (Cathy) and Jeffry Hynum; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Luther was preceded in death by his two brothers; sister; and a grandchild. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2011. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. Cemetery: Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
