Obituary
MADISON-Adeline "Babe" Haeffner, age 88, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2011, at Oakwood Village East. She was born on July 2, 1922, in Elkton, S.D., the daughter of Emil and Elsa (Mielke) Rochel. She graduated from Madison East High School in 1940. Adeline later married Charles on June 1, 1946, in Madison, and together, they had two children. She worked for 40 years as a cashier for various supermarkets. Adelines greatest joy was gatherings with her family. She was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church and Eastern Star and White Shrine. Adeline is survived by her son, Charles (Susan) Haeffner; daughter, Debra Haeffner; grandsons, Daniel (fiance, Selina Schmidtka) Haeffner and her two children, Camryn and Damien; grandson, Corey (Mimi) Haeffner; cousins, Linda Packard and Janet (Gerald) Fine and family; and nieces, Judy (Rolland) Pollack, Corrine (Dale) French, Jane (Bill) Nickle and her special four-legged friend, Dottie and her mom, Chris Anders. She is further survived by many four-legged grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and members of her special adoptive McMillan family. In honor of Adelines wishes, private services will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to Oakwood Village East and HospiceCare, Inc. Memorials may be made to Dane County Humane Society or HospiceCare, Inc. Remember me with smiles and laughter, as I will remember you all. If you cannot remember me without tears, dont remember me at all.

Dear Haeffner family, I wish you my condolences on the lost of your beloved, mother and grandmother. I know she had a very special place in your lives and hearts. She was so blessed to have such wonderful family who loved her so dearly and looked after her with such tender love and care. My thoughts are with you all.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I am also a member of Plymouth Church. I didn't know Adeline well, but we did share a couple of special visits some time ago. She was a delight to be around.
