Velma Baxter

MONTELLO/MADISON- Velma Baxter, age 81, of Montello, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 5, 2011. She was born on April 1, 1930, in Mount Horeb, the daughter of John and Veronica (Meier) Keller. Velma married Roy Baxter on Feb. 9, 1951, in Cottage Grove. She graduated from high school in Belleville. Velma loved to babysit kids, cook, crochet and go to flea markets. She is survived by her husband, Roy of 59 years; children, Stan, Teresa and Ron (Jill) Baxter; grandchildren, Abigayle and Benjamin; and sister, Evelyn Kaul. Velma was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison at 2 p.m., on Friday, July 8, 2011, with Father Kent Schmitt presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service on Friday. Cemetery: Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens.
