Obituary
MADISON Joseph James Dottl, age 93, of DeFores,t passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2011, at HospiceCare. He was born April 21, 1918, in Madison, the son of Joseph and Kathryn Dottl. He married Barbara Bruer on Oct. 25, 1936. Joseph graduated from St. James School. As a boy he worked at the automotive business, Ideal Body Co, started by his father in Madison, over 100 years ago. In 1960, Joe founded Dottls Accurate Alignment and Frame Service, a Madison institution for over 50 years, where he worked until he retired at age 50, after which Barbara and he enjoyed traveling around the country. Joes love of cars and fixing things did not end at retirement. When he was not tinkering with his Cadillac, he was finding something to fix or re-purpose. Even at 93, a set of tools was always close at hand. Joseph is survived by his son, David Joseph Dottl; daughter, Carol Ann Dottl; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; daughter. Janice Dreger; and his parents. A memorial service will be held at the Catholic chapel at RESURRECTION CEMETERY, 2705 Regent St., Madison, A memorial service will be held in the Catholic Chapel at RESURRECTION CEMETERY, 2705 Regent St., Madison, at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Visitation will be at the cemetery from noon until the time of the service on Tuesday.
