Obituary

MADISON- Joseph E. Joe Seim, age 75, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Oak Park Place. He was born on Aug. 14, 1935, the son of Earl and Mary (Gildin) Seim. Joe married Judy Hanson on Aug. 12,1967. He attended East High School. Joe worked as a house painter for many years and was a member of Painters Union 802. Joe enjoyed building jigsaw puzzles, fishing, golfing and playing Keno at Ho Chunk and DeJope. He liked to play softball and was the 1965 leading hitter for the DeForest Lions and the 1968 Stoughton MVP. Joe also loved his dogs, Pokey and Jacob. He is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Teresa Moore of Durand Ill. and Rhonda (Curt) Ketchum of Davis, Ill.; brother, Richard (Jane) Seim of Sun Prairie; sister, Mary (Ronald) Brantmeyer of Madison; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one godchild; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law; step children, Sheri (Jim) Schumann of Maplewood, Minn. and Bryan Schenian of Monticello, Ind.; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David Seim and Gene Seim; brother-in-law, Craig Hanson; sisters-in-law, Mary Hanson and Gloria Miller. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2011. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday. Memorials may be made in Joes name to Oak Park Place. Joes family would like to thank Oak Park Place, Dr. Shropshire and his staff at Monona Clinic and HospiceCare for all the wonderful care they gave Joe. Visitation: Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday.
