Obituary

MADISON-Maria Rae Zeier passed away at age 47, on the morning of Monday, June 20, 2011, in her mothers home. Born April 20, 1964, she attended St. Dennis Grade School and graduated from Edgewood High School in 1982, and attended Madison Area Technical College, where she made the Deans list. Maria was residing at Dean Avenue Group Home, worked at Opportunities Inc., and volunteered her time at Chrysalis. A kind and gentle soul, Maria was loved by many. Despite lifes many difficult challenges she enjoyed the simple things in life. She was a private person who took comfort in having peace and quiet and living a simple life. Her loving, caring nature showed through when she spent time with family and pets. She was especially fond of cats and looked forward to visits with her new great-niece and great-nephew. She appreciated nature and enjoyed scenic car rides. Maria loved swimming, sitting in the sun, reading magazines, and relaxing in a nice hot bath. She looked forward to shopping trips and particularly enjoyed her morning coffee and weekly lattes. Maria spent many years visiting on weekends with her mother and father and especially enjoyed watching football with her father. She loved the cooking and home improvement shows on T.V. and would never miss "Lets Make a Deal" every morning. Maria found great pleasure listening to the popular music of the 70s and 80s to relax. Maria is survived by her mother, Loraine (Campbell) Zeier; brother, Dennis (Deborah) Zeier;sisters, Renee Zeier and Michelle Kucharski;nephew, Jonathan (Nicole) Zeier; niece, Felicia Meade; great-niece, Serena; and great-nephew, Leo. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond; brother, Mark; and nephew, Travis Zeier. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave., Madison, at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2011, with Monsignor Michael Hippee presiding. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 4:30 p.m. until the time of the Mass on Thursday. Memorials may be made in Marias name to Chrysalis and Lutheran Social Services. To Lorraine and Family and Friends~ Maria will be dearly missed, I worked with Maria about three years until May 1st,2011. and Now work over at Lss's other group home In Middleton. Maria took a long time to warm up to me, but when she did she was so extremely pleasant and my friend. She was a big part of the group home and like family to everyone there! My Prayers and thoughts go out to the family With Love Michelle
