Obituary

Taylor, Gordon H.MADISON-Gordon H. Taylor, age 82, passed away at his home on Thursday, June 9, 2011, surrounded by members of his family. He was born in Westport on Oct. 24, 1928, the second son of Pauline and Clarence Taylor. Gordon attended Catfish School in Westport before joining the U.S. Air Force in 1946. He worked at Montgomery Ward before starting his own business, Taylor Appliance Repair, which he ran for 45 years, retiring at the age of 70. Gordon married Darlene Hogan on June 20, 1966, at St. Dennis Catholic Church in Madison. He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene; daughters, Connie and Cathi, both of Sacramento, Calif, and Christi (Dan) Scholl of Green Lake; sons, Tim of Austin, Texas and Tom of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchildren, T.J. (Heather), Stephanie, Whitney and Ellis; and great-grandson, Gage. He is also survived by his brother-in law, Wally; sisters-in-law, Arlene and Donna; and affectionately by many nephews and nieces. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Pauline and Clarence; daughter, Kim; siblings, Joe, Lloyd, Mary, Steve, Joan, Bob and Vernie. No services are being held, per his request. A memorial celebration of Gordon's life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in his name to the Salvation Army. Thank you for the kindness and caring from all the nurses and doctors in the MCIU of St. Mary's Hospital. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to his Hospice nurse, Jess, for making Gordon's last days comfortable and treating him with respect and dignity. "May all the flowers in heaven be brighter and fuller with the benefit of his green thumb'." Memorials: Memorials may be made in his name to the Salvation Army. Service: No services are being held, per his request. A memorial celebration of Gordon's life will be held at a later date.
