Obituary
MADISON-Carol Ann Dickson, age 64, of Helena Montana, died on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Stillwater Medical Center in Stillwater, Okla., after a prolonged battle with cancer. She was born on Aug. 2, 1946, in Madison, the daughter of William Francis Dickson and Barbara Eileen Liddicoat. Carol grew up in Madison and graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1964. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater with a Bachelors in Education. Carol married James Allen Kenas on July 5, 1969, with whom she had three children, Justin, Joshua, and Annalisa. Carol enjoyed teaching children of all ages for seventeen years. Carol also was involved in Christian ministry with the Navigators, the Mansion, and Lamb of God Christian School. In 1986, she was recognized as a Wisconsin Exemplary Science Teacher and appointed to the position as Writing Consultant for the state of Wisconsin. Several of Carols loves were singing, playing guitar, creative dance, theatre, music, and gardening. Carol is survived by her siblings Connie (Roderick) Beidler and Billy Dickson,; and also by three children, Justin (Kim) Kenas of Wichita, Kan., Josh Kenas of Perkins, Okla., and Annalisa (Darren) Luker of Helena, Mont.; and her nine grandchildren, William, Olivia, Lauren, Tristan, Skylar, Burgin, and Aiden. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bart Dickson; and her parents. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive at 11 a.m. on June 20, 2011, with the Rev. Roderick Beidler presiding. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2011 and also from 10 a.m until the time of service on Monday, June 20, 2011.
