Obituary

Charles E. Habermann, age 73, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011. He was born on Sept. 16, 1937, in Madison, the son of Frank and Frieda Haberman. He was united in marriage to Lois Haakinson on Nov. 5, 1960, in DeForest. Charles graduated from Middleton High School and went to work for the U.S. Postal Service for Middleton and Madison, where he worked until his retirement. Chuck was an avid bowler, having bowled six 300 games. He also enjoyed gardening and his dogs. He is survived by his wife, Lois; two brothers, Wayne (Cora) of Hawaii, and Jim (Jodi) of North Carolina; a sister, Linda (Greg) Dauck of Middleton; a sister-in-law, Dolores Haberman of California; nieces, nephews and his beloved dogs, Mollie and Daisy. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gilbert; and two sisters, Joyce Riley and Mary Haberman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave., Middleton at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dane County Humane Society or St. Bernard's Catholic Church.
