Obituary

MADISON- Rose Marie Bonjean, age 86, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at St. Marys Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on May 2, 1925, in De Pere, the daughter of Kathryn and Raymond Quinnette. Rose married Robert Bonjean on Oct. 2, 1955. She was an active member of St. Dennis Catholic Church. Roses family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were very important to her. She enjoyed gardening, playing bingo and cards, traveling and was an avid Packers and Badgers fan. Rose was proud of her Irish heritage. She had an incredible zest for life, through her many challenges she faced due to her diabetes. Rose is survived by her children, Jeff (Kim) Bonjean, Terry (Ray) Skolaski and Tim (Sonia Teniente) Bonjean; grandchildren, Heather (Justin) Schmelzer, Jason (Anne) Skolaski, Amy (Mike) Jacyna and Jody Bonjean; great-grandchildren, Charles Schmock, Kathryn Skolaski, Emily Schmelzer, Cameron Jacyna, Stella Skolaski, Jacob Schmelzer and two on the way; brother, Jim (Carol) Quinette; three step grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert in 2003; and brother, Richard Quinnette. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 with Father Kent Schmitt presiding. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 and also at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to St. Dennis Catholic Church or the American Diabetes Society. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Karmenta, St. Marys 3 South West, 8 South West, Dr. Wertsch and Wildwood Clinic staff for all of their care; and also to her close friends.
