Obituary

Ruby J. Annen, age 90, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2011, at HospiceCare in Madison. Ruby was born Jan. 13, 1921, in Lodi, the daughter of John and Anna (Lunde) Haarklau. She married Herman Annen on Mar. 8, 1947, in Rockford, Ill. Ruby worked for Rayovac for 41 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Ruby enjoyed gardening and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs. She enjoyed spending time with her friends from Rayovac, and her Schenk Street neighbors. Ruby was proud of her Norwegian heritage, and enjoyed cooking Norwegian delicacies. She is survived by her sisters, Irene Jorgenson, JoAnn Kojo, and Alma (Les) Vale; brother, Roger (Ellen) Haarklau; nephews, Bob (Mary Celentani) Annen and Kevin (Kathy) Haarklau. Ruby also leaves behind other nieces, nephews, and extended family. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; brothers, Jerome, Howard, Arthur and Oliver Haarklau. Funeral Services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2011. Burial will be at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2011. The family would like to thank the staff at Kindred Hearts Memory Care in Cottage Grove for their loving care of their sister and aunt. Cemetery: Burial will be at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens. Visitation: Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2011. Service: Funeral Services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2011.
