Marie Spataro

Spataro, Marie H. MONONA/JUDA- Marie H. Spataro, age 94, of Juda, formerly of Monona, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2011 in Juda. She was born on Dec. 7, 1916, in Evanston, Ill., the daughter of William and Chloe (Tree) Leck. Marie married Gabriel Spataro, who preceded her in death in 1999. She graduated from Winslow High School and resided in Monona for 63 years before moving to Green County in 2002. Marie worked at the Emporium in Madison as an elevator operator. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Marie is survived by her nieces and nephews, Bill (Nancy) Moyer, Clara (Bill) Hawthorne, Nancy Moyer, John (Jackie) Moyer, LaVern Janicke and Bob Beverly; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Joyce Randall; sister, Viola Moyer; nieces, Patricia Janicke and Ellen Beverly; and nephew, Keith Moyer. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 9, 2011, with Father Bart Timmerman presiding. Entombment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Monday.
