Evelyn Twining

MADISON- Evelyn Lucille Twining, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Meriter Hospital. She was born on Sept. 24, 1922, at home, to Roland and Hattie Wolf of Waterloo. Evelyn graduated from Waterloo High School in 1941 and moved to Madison in 1942. She married Leland L. Twining in 1945, at Lutheran Memorial Church in Madison. They were married for nearly 50 years. Evelyn is survived by two children, Linda (Derke) Frilling (Jim) of Paoli and Larry (Kristine) Twining of Stoughton; six grandchildren, Vickie Brown, Michelle Derke, Jon (Mariah) Derke, Tania Twining, Traci Twining and Tyler Twining; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mary Moore of Madison and Pauline Twining of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; and parents. Funeral services will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2011. Entombment will follow. Visitation will be held at the chapel from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
