Wanda Rosaline Gray

Gray, Wanda RosalineMADISON-Wanda Rosaline Gray, age 84, of Madison passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at HospiceCare. She was born on Sept. 29, 1926, in Madison, the daughter of Albert and Ella (Horstmeyer) Wiessinger. Wanda graduated from Madison East High School. After high school she went to work at DEMCO. Wanda was united in marriage to John C. Gray on July 28, 1945, in Peoria, Ill. She then worked for UW-Madison in the department of statistics as a secretary, retiring in 1989. Wanda enjoyed playing cards, sewing and crocheting. She especially loved being with her family. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Wanda is survived by her nieces, Debra (Kevin) Smith, Randena (Leroy) Soldner, Carrie (Steve) Martin, Natalie (Randy) Fischer and Charlene (Kelly) Feiner; and her deceased husband's family. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; sister, Audrey Gooch; brother, Rollie Wiessinger; and niece, Karla Weisensel. Funeral services will be held at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5701 Raymond Road, Madison, at noon on Monday, May 23, 2011, with the Rev. Brent Campbell presiding. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. The family would like to give special thanks to Pastor Brent Campbell and Pastor Sheryl Erickson, Deb Puchner, the staff at 3 South West at St. Mary's Hospital, and the staff at HospiceCare Inc. "You lived your life to serve the Lord. Although we will miss you, the open gates of Heaven are now your reward." Cemetery: Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
