Obituary
MADISON- Mildred M. Stump, age 92, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at the Attic Angel Place in Madison. She was born on May 23, 1918, in North Dakota, the daughter of Sophia M. Boleig and Gustiva Adolph Fritz. In the mid 1930s the family moved to Madison, which became their permanent home. Mildred graduated from Madison West High School. In 1939, she married LaVern Faga. Together they had a son, Kenneth. In 1945 Mildred married Frank Stump, who preceded her in death in 1977. During war time she began working for Oscar Mayer and continued working there for 16 years. She then worked as a waitress and for 10 years worked for the Badger Candy Kitchen. Mildred and Frank enjoyed the north woods and spent their time building a cottage on Deer Lake. This cottage became their summer home. She liked playing cards, traveling and just doing nothing. Relaxing! Mildred is survived by her daughter-in-law, Bev Faga of Madison; grandchildren, Craig (Janice) Faga of Cross Plains, Curt (Sue) Faga of Poynette and Cheryl Nelson of Pardeville; great-granchildren, Jason, Ryan and Meagan Faga and Cody, Austin and Wade Nelson; step grandchildren, Brian Patt and Brenda (Marty) McMiller. She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth; parents; and brothers, Gerald, Donald and Marvin Fritz. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, May 12, 2011, with the Rev. Glen Reichelderfer presiding. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc.
