Obituary
OREGON-Dorothy J. Tauchen, age 87, of Oregon, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2011, at HospiceCare. She was born on March 27, 1924, in Vulcan, Mich., the daughter of Frank and Jessie (Barker) Bolan. She married Joseph F. Tauchen Jr. on June 13, 1942, at St. Raphaels Church, in Madison. Dorothy graduated from West High School in 1941. Dorothy owned and operated her own ceramic shop in Oregon for 20 years. She was a member of the Oregon Senior Center and the Silver Threads. She will be well remembered for her knitting, crocheting, and angel food cakes. Dorothy is survived by her children, Terry (Ruth) Tauchen of Madison, Ron Tauchen of Reno, Nev., Mary Tauchen of Belleville, James Tauchen of Grafton, Kay and Sue; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph in 2003; her parents; and her brother, Wally Bolan. Funeral services will be held at COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 201 Church Street, Brooklyn, at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 15, 2011, with the Rev. Gail Brown presiding. Burial will be at the Town of Dunn Burying Grounds. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Marys Hospital, HospiceCare, Inc., and Community United Methodist Church of Brooklyn.
