Jon Richard Varese,

VERONA - Jon R. Varese, age 70, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, April 25, 2011, at Middleton Village Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born on Dec. 2, 1940, to Buford E. and Mary B. (Lawry) Shinneman. He was later adopted by Salvatore \"Sam\" Varese. Jon was in the Air Force from 1958 until 1964, he was then a truck driver for many years and later was employed in the maintenance department at UW-Stevens Point until his retirement in 2003. Jon is survived by his children, Don (Darcey) Varese of Stoughton, Denise Brodd of Verona, Jon Varese Jr. of Chippewa Falls, and Chantil Varese of Madison; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Earl and Joe of Arizona; a sister, Sharon (Ken) Dyer of Madison; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jon will be remembered with a military service name marker at Highland Memory Gardens.
