Charlene A. Norton,

MAUSTON/MADISON-Charlene Ann Norton, age 70, of Madison, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2011, at UW Hospital. Charlene was born on June 14, 1940, in Lindina Township, the daughter of Ivan Sr. and Rose (Neuhauser) Norton. Charlene retired from UW Hospital after 26 years. She is a member of the Cathedral parish in downtown Madison. Charlene has been an active member of the Women of the Moose, since joining in September 1965, where she received her Academy of Friendship Degree on May 7, 1967. She is survived by her brother, Ivan Jr. (Bernice) Norton; nieces, Helen (Jack) Maki of Kendall, Rose Ann (Charles) Lehman of Stoughton, Clarice Hinrichs of Monona, Clarissa (Dwayne) Webb of LaCrosse, Cloris Norton of Monona, and Clareta (Christopher) Duran of Monona; nephews, Alvin (Rose) Belk of DeForest, Emmett (Leo) Belk of Portage, Curtis (Dawn) Norton of Middleton, and Cletus (Stacey) Norton of Orlando, Fla.; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Gladys Belk and Mary Ellen Sowatzky. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. PATRICK CATHOLIC CHURCH, 404 E. Main Street, Madison at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2011, with Monsignor Kevin Holmes presiding. Burial will be at Mauston Cemetery in Mauston. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a 6:15 p.m. Women of the Moose service and Rosary to follow at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011, and also at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass on Thursday. A special thank you to the medical staff at UW Hospital and all the staff at Sunny Hill Health Care Center. Cemetery: Burial will be at Mauston Cemetery in Mauston.
