As a fellow church member, Alison was always one that I could rely on for thoughtful insights on any matter. Her gentle manner was easy to be around. As a fellow employee under Wisconsin's Department of Administration, I always enjoyed her insights to changes within the department. When she cared deeply about some issue, there was a slight rise in her manner of speaking, just enough that I knew she felt strongly about it. Needless to say, Alison is missed.

Before she received her law degree and worked for the State of Wisconsin, Alison received a Master's degree in the field of motor development and taught this subject at Northern Iowa University. Alison was an outstanding student. She published her Master's research in 1976, and it is still cited in the motor development literature. In that same year she also published a paper in the Journal of Communication that is even more widely cited. Her colleagues in the field of motor development will always remember her for her intelligence and great sense of humor!

My Friend, I was saddened to learn of your passing, yet take comfort in knowing that your spirit is at peace. Your friendship over the years has been incredible, the laughter, the discussions and great lunches. You touched so many with your gentle manner, compassion, and insight. Your voice is now silent, but the joy of your friendship will go on. Stel

Alison worked as an Executive Policy and Budget Analyst in the State Budget Office, Wisconsin Department of Administration, during the 1980's and beyond. She was always very conscientious, considerate, and interested in helping our most vulnerable citizens. She was also intelligent, thoughtful, and diligent about finding a just solution to public policy issues. I worked with her all the years she was in the Budget Office and am sad that a friend and a dedicated public servant is no longer with us.
