Obituary
MADISON - Clarence Meyer, age 92 , of Madison, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at HospiceCare, Inc. He was born on February 18, 1919, in the town of York, the son of Albert and Mathilda (Fischer) Meyer. Clarence married LaVerne M. Timme on June 12, 1948 in Portage. He was employed by Klein-Dickert for 36 years as a glazier and was a member of the Glaziers and Glassworkers Union. Clarence was a lifetime member of VFW No. 7591, and a very active member of the East Side Club. He was an avid recycler, and enjoyed dancing, playing cards, watching sports, gambling and taking care of his family. Clarence is survived by his beloved wife, LaVerne Meyer; son, Gary (Debbie) Meyer, daughter, Linda (Buck) Hein; granddaughters, Natalie (George) Kraus and Carisa Meyer (Ryland Coleman); grandsons, Casey Meyer and Tyson Steinke; and sisters, Verna Maier, Hazel Loeffler and Florence Lang. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Walter, George, August, Herbert, Dora, Ella, Alvina and Nellie. Funeral services will be held at HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2670 Milwaukee St., Madison, on Thursday, April 14, 2011, with the Rev. Bernt Tweit presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 until the time of the service on Thursday. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Chalmers and staff at the VA Hospital and to HospiceCare, Inc.

I am so sorry to hear of Clarence's passing. He was one of the first people I met when I joined the East Side Businessmen's Club and was always willing and able to lend a helping hand. LaVerne - I hope you find solace in the many memories you and Clarence shared.
