Marcel Lawrence

MADISON-Marcel L. Lawrence, age 71, of Madison passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at St. Marys Hospital after a long illness. He was born on Nov. 9, 1939, in Viola, the son of Isaac and Ruby (Allen) Lawrence. Marcel was united in marriage to Jane Prigge on Feb. 24, 1964 in Viroqua. He worked for the State of Wisconsin for 30 plus years, retiring in 1997. Marcel was a lifelong avid sports fan. He enjoyed country music, spending time with his grandchildren, going to garage sales and bike riding. Marcel is survived by his wife, Janie of Madison; children, Lisa (Mike) Burns and Tina Lawrence; grandchildren, Breanna, Cassie and Alex Burns, Aurora, Aidan and Alena Burris; and great-granddaughter, Alaina. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Inurnment will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. The family would like to thank the paramedics at Station #5 for all their help the last 15 years.
