Obituary
MONONA/MCFARLAND-Regina (Rohret) Parks, age 90, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2011, at HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born on Jan. 17, 1921, in Oxford, Iowa, the daughter of Cletus and Irene (Rourke) Rohret. She married Kenneth Parks in 1942. Regina and Ken chose the Madison area for their home after being stationed at Truax Field for a short time during World War II. She retired from the University of Wisconsin Department of Medicine, where she worked for several years. Regina loved to travel, read, and sew. Most of all she loved her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joys. She was a charter member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Regina was a true lady, who will be fondly remembered for her class, her style, her wit and her good humor. She made everyone feel special. Regina is survived by her children, Jacqueline (Bud) Stang, Steven (Donna) Parks, Kent (Pat) Parks, Thomas Parks, and Gayle Parks; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Kenneth; her parents; her sister, Elizabeth Dini; and her brother, Robert Rohret. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield Street, Monona at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2011, with Father Bart Timmerman presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. We will all miss Regina for the wonderful times we had with her and the unconditional love she gave us all. We hope all the good things we remember can go with her to her next place and make her spirit glow.

In celebrating of your mothers life, to say "She made everyone feel special", is a wonderful legacy. It is true each time we gathered for a family celebration, your mother made each one feel special.
During this time of celebration, my thoughts and prayers are with each member of the "Parks family".
Sincerely;
A.J.
